Clapzy is a sound-triggered phone finder that helps you locate your phone using configured sound triggers such as clapping or whistling. When a configured trigger is detected, the App may respond with features such as an alarm, bell, flashlight, and vibration.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Clapzy is designed to operate without requiring an account and without collecting or selling personal information.
2. Information We Collect
Clapzy does not collect or require you to provide personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or account credentials through its core functionality.
The App may process the following information locally on your device:
- Microphone audio input: Used to detect configured clap or whistle sounds when the listening feature is enabled.
- App settings and preferences: Such as trigger mode, sensitivity, and selected response type. These settings are stored locally on your device.
Clapzy does not use advertising services or analytics services.
3. Microphone Usage
When you enable the “Clap to Find” or “Whistle to Find” feature, Clapzy uses your device's microphone to detect the selected sound trigger.
Microphone access is used only for sound-trigger detection.
Clapzy processes microphone input for the purpose of detecting the configured sound trigger and does not intentionally record, save, or upload microphone audio.
Clapzy does not transmit microphone audio to our servers or to third parties.
You can stop microphone access by disabling the listening feature in the App or by managing the microphone permission through your Android device settings.
4. How Sound Detection Works
Clapzy analyzes incoming sound while the relevant listening feature is enabled to identify acoustic patterns corresponding to a clap or whistle.
The sensitivity setting allows you to adjust how easily the App detects the selected sound trigger and helps distinguish the trigger from surrounding sounds.
Sound detection is used only for the phone-finding functionality of the App.
5. Device Permissions
Clapzy may request the following Android permissions, depending on the features enabled in your version of the App:
Microphone — RECORD_AUDIO
Used only to detect configured clap or whistle sound triggers.
Vibration — VIBRATE
Used to provide vibration feedback when a configured trigger is detected.
Notifications — POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Used to display notifications related to the App's operation, including a listening-status notification where applicable.
Foreground Service
If background listening is enabled in the App, an Android foreground service may be used to maintain sound detection while the App is not displayed on the screen. Android may display a persistent notification while the service is active.
Flashlight / Torch
Used to activate the device's built-in flashlight as a configurable response when a trigger is detected.
Clapzy does not use the camera to capture photographs or videos for its flashlight functionality.
Permissions are used only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
6. Notifications
Clapzy may display local notifications related to its operation, such as an active listening notification or trigger-related notification.
These notifications are generated by the App for functionality and are not used for advertising or marketing.
Clapzy does not send promotional or advertising notifications.
7. Vibration
Clapzy may use your device's vibration function as a configurable response when a sound trigger is detected.
Vibration does not involve collecting, storing, or transmitting personal information.
8. Flashlight
Clapzy may activate your device's built-in flashlight as a configurable response when a sound trigger is detected.
The flashlight feature does not capture photographs, record videos, or access camera sensor data.
9. Background and Foreground Operation
If background listening is enabled, Clapzy may use an Android foreground service to continue sound-trigger detection while you are using another application or while the App is not visible.
When active, Android displays a persistent notification indicating that the service is running.
You can stop the listening functionality at any time through the App or through Android system controls.
If your installed version of Clapzy does not support background listening, microphone access occurs only while the applicable listening feature is active within the App.
10. Data Storage
Clapzy stores applicable App settings and preferences locally on your device.
Clapzy does not maintain a user account system and does not upload your App settings to our servers.
Clapzy does not intentionally store microphone audio recordings.
Because settings are stored locally, they remain on your device until they are cleared by you, the App is reset, or the App is uninstalled, subject to Android's handling of application data.
11. Data Sharing
Clapzy does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
Clapzy does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or other third-party services that collect user data for advertising or analytics purposes.
Microphone input used for sound detection is not transmitted to third parties.
12. Third-Party Services
Clapzy currently does not use third-party advertising, analytics, or data-collection SDKs as part of its core functionality.
If third-party services are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate to explain the relevant data practices.
13. Advertising
Clapzy does not display advertisements.
The App does not use advertising networks, advertising SDKs, personalized advertising, or advertising-related tracking.

You can:

- Clear the App's locally stored data through Android's App Info settings.
- Uninstall Clapzy from your device at any time.
17. Data Deletion
Because Clapzy does not maintain a user account or store personal information on our servers, there is generally no server-side personal data requiring a deletion request.
To remove locally stored App data, you can use Android's Settings → Apps → Clapzy → Storage → Clear Data options. You can also uninstall the App, which removes the App and its locally stored data subject to Android's standard behavior.
If a future version of Clapzy introduces server-side data collection, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain the applicable deletion process.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, its functionality, or applicable legal requirements.
